September's Scent of the Month:

Lavender

September can be a stressful time of transition.  Going back to school, or having children returning to school, can mean a stressful shift in our daily schedule.  Instead of getting stressed out to the max following Labor Day weekend, utilize Lavender to relieve stress, muscle cramping, indigestion, and improve circulation and immunity.  Lavender is a sweet and floral scent that is one of the safest among all of the essential oils.  To increase the levels of calm in your home you can use lavender in the following ways:

  • Mist a lavender spray onto your pillow before bed
  • Place a sachet of lavender in your drawers, specifically your pajama drawer
  • Include a few drops in a favorite odorless lotion for nighttime application
  • Take a hot lavender bath with a few drops of the essential oil in your bath water
  • Put a few drops on a warm or cool compress and place that on your forehead for about 20 minutes
  • Put a few drops in your hair or on your wrists throughout the day if you need a moment to relax
