“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”

Dance-Dance Revolution: Ballet Style
Have you ever marveled at the way a ballerina seemingly floats about on her toes? Or the way they leap into the air and somehow delicately float back down? Though ballet focuses on the appearance of weightlessness and grace, it takes months, even years, for one's movements to appear so effortless. Art, in its many forms, is about so much more than aesthetics. It's a way in which we express ourselves and, especially in dance, a way to find harmony between our mind and body. As with any practiced skill, there is a constant calibration process happening between your brain and your muscles. You expect certain results from each movement and you adjust your body until you get the desired outcomes. Ballet is rewarding: it teaches discipline, endurance, and both physical and mental strength, skills we can carry into our daily lives.
